Blueprint Season: Wireframes, Sitemaps, and Planning for the Year Ahead

The week before the holidays is when smart organizations lock in their plans. Here’s what we delivered while others were winding down.

A Complete Wireframe Package—14 Templates in One Week

One of our nonprofit clients needed a full wireframe package for their website transformation. Not just a homepage mockup—the whole system. We delivered 14 distinct page templates organized by priority tier, from the homepage and service directories down to individual practitioner profiles and blog layouts.

The key was organizing the work into tiers: critical priority pages first, then high priority, then template pages. This approach means even if timelines shift, the most important pages are always done first. The client now has a complete blueprint for their site architecture, ready for design and development in the new year.

Wayfinding Component Goes from Concept to Code

Our enterprise migration project delivered a custom wayfinding component this week—from design through development. This navigation element helps users understand where they are in a complex site structure, especially important when you’re consolidating content from multiple legacy sites.

Wayfinding sounds simple until you try to build it for a site with thousands of pages and dozens of content types. The design phase established the visual language; development made it real. Now it’s ready for integration into the broader migration.

Collaborative Sitemaps for Two Interconnected Sites

For our dual website project, we completed collaborative sitemaps for both the personal brand site and the organizational site. A sitemap isn’t just a list of pages—it’s a strategic document that shows how content connects, where users will navigate, and how the two sites will link to each other.

Working through sitemaps collaboratively with the client ensures nothing gets lost in translation. They know their content and their audience; we know information architecture and user experience. The sitemap is where those perspectives merge.

Data Visualization Gets an Upgrade

One of our health-focused clients needed their impact data to tell a better story. We refined their data page with animating numbers and improved layout in the “Measuring the Impact” section.

Static numbers are forgettable. Numbers that animate as visitors scroll are memorable. It’s a small enhancement with outsized impact on how visitors perceive an organization’s reach and effectiveness.
